Phil Bloch

Phil Bloch is one of the premier Rhythm & Blues drummers in Los Angeles who maintains an ongoing schedule of live and studio playing, producing, and songwriting. He has recorded or played live in the U.S. and Europe with Terry Evans, Ry Cooder, Solomon Burke, Little Richard, Marva Wright, Willie Green, Jr., Hamish Stuart, Delaney Bramlett, Steve Cropper, Tom Scott, Hense Powell, and many others. Phil is also an accomplished producer.

Phil has provided valuable insights for SoundLab on effects processing, interface design, and interoperability with other DAWs.

Here’s a link to one song from an album called Fire In The Feeling that Phil co-produced with artist Terry Evans. Phil co-wrote this song, called Walkin’ Chains, with Tony Gilkyson and Terry. It’s about continuing to move forward no matter what chains you might have trying to drag you down (your health, other people, whatever). Everybody’s got some.

Phil co-produced (with Andrew Bush) and played on the Blind Man’s Trick album for The Mescal Sheiks band. He is presently (2024-25) working with co-producer Andrew Bush on their new full album recording.
